Beautiful message and words. We are all co-creators in this world. Why not make it a place of love and life? Until then, it is a shiny shallow distraction for our avatars to persist in..
Not an easy place to get to, but just a reminder that we have all we need to get there, if only there was the will. And our leaders in the west aren't going to get us there.
It seems so possible when it’s all laid out like this … That’s one of the most frustrating things about our current situation- we really don’t have to live like this. Things could be so much better for all of us. Thanks for this Diana ❤️
Thanks! I agree -- we could be living in an incredibly wonderful world if it weren't for the crazies running things. I hope we can figure out how to get to the kind of world that we want, and that is absolutely possible.
"Please, if you believe that destroying the planet and people’s lives in order to amass more money and power is alright, get some counselling. "
If I had the funds (I don't really) I would buy a big billboard--or several thousand--and put that message on it for all to read!
I would like to envision a world without borders. John Lennon sang about that in "Imagine": "Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do..." If we could take away these artificial constructs that are used to divide and conquer the ordinary people, think how powerful we would be! We'd get rid of the hoarders/billionaires overnight! Then together we could build that beautiful, clean and egalitarian world we all dream about. Someday it's got to come true!
And it's entirely possible, Catriona. We just have a few people with vested interests in war and austerity who are keeping it from becoming our actual reality.
Yes, I agree, Diane, we need vision, courage, wisdom and tenacity if we're going to get through this. But I know a lot of people are on the same page, both in the west and in the rest of the world.
I wish I knew how we get there, Mike, but it felt important to point out that we have the potential for something really wonderful. And to aspire towards it, and live the values that would help to make it happen. I know we're so far from it, and I think the mass pain awakening is right around the corner. If the western world's support of genocide doesn't do it, maybe it will combined with the pain a lot of us are about to experience.
Either we fantasise or choose reality. We got here through stupidity, selfishness and apathy... just as our forefathers did. If Ukrainians aren't prepared to stand against their the USA and 'their' proxy government as their loved ones are getting killed, then why would we, thousands of kilometres away, do so for them, Palestine, Sudan etc. For all the talk of beauty, we're a shitty species. I don't sugarcoat it anymore, nor make hope colourful - that's a waste of time. There's work to be done, but history proves that people only work together after destruction. The Recession will do it, but not love for our species.
Or, since many of us see clearly what is coming, we can plan. Many of us are working on community building, and I think that's a good thing to do right now.
Will, did you actually read the full post, or did you just read the first line or two and assume it was new age-y BS?
As a lifelong activist, I'm well aware of many of the forces we're up against. I think it's also important to remind ourselves and each other what's possible.
And there are some pretty benevolent forces at play right now too. They just don't get a lot of air time.
Anyways, I'll let you get back to your doom scrolling...
Social justice/environmental activism has been my background.
So what do you plan to do in this chaotic world, Will? What kind of world do you aspire to? What kind of activism do you engage in, or have you just given up?
I am on Book 5 of the Anastasia series (do you know these remarkable books?) and was reading a passage on prophecy as an attempt to set the direction for future developments. I was struck by this sentence: “The more people believe in universal doom, the greater will be the number of thoughts attempting to outline the image and it will come to pass;” So we need to start from faith in the future.
No, I haven't read them, but that's exactly the spirit from which this post sprung. Yes, these are incredibly scary times, but we need to keep in mind what's possible, and do what we can to work towards that vision.

God bless you. And god bless Falastin.

Take good care, Najwan.
Inshallah Diana…

It really has to come true. The alternative -- the path we're collectively taking now -- is unthinkable.
Beautiful vision of what is possible Diana.
And it's entirely possible, Catriona. We just have a few people with vested interests in war and austerity who are keeping it from becoming our actual reality.
Yes, what is need is a clear vision to prevent humanity from blindly stumbling and fumbling along. And the courage to make it come true.

All good things, but we're at a topping point, and the only way selfishness is escaped is through a mass pain awakening.

100%. I'm happy that you have it.

Thank you, Diana, this is so well said. Beautiful artwork.
Thanks so much, Heidi. I think we have to keep our sights on what's possible in these frightening times.
I totally agree.
'With AI, shouldn’t we be able to have shorter hours?'
Ideally, that would be the case, yeah. Technology's supposed to help improve our work-life balance, among other things.

Can I politely ask which activist tribe you came from?
ecology, or humanitarian?
Do you speak for the trees, or all the demons?

Someone just sent me this:
