Bravo for your outrage and passion against so many injustices and evil acts. Especially to remind us of the debt the world owes to the Palestinian people . The genocide is the testing ground for many of the methods and weapons that will be turned on us if we do not comply.
That is another reason why I don’t understand people’s indifference or out right support for Israel ❤️🩹
Thanks, Susan. My alarm bells went off when they started accusing us of antisemitism when we complained about the genocide. What a horrible way to silence people, and what an insult to our intelligence. I hope it ends soon -- it's unbearable, and I can't even fathom how horrible it must be to those on the receiving end. Our countries' complicity shows us clearly the values of those in power.
Playing the antisemitism card is such a tired old trope which no longer rings true. It is an insult to our intelligence, but it is powerful as people loose their jobs and even freedom through this accusation .
Protecting Israel is the main game in town for those who unfortunately have been given power. They are spending our money and building closer connections to the murderers.
It is absolutely outrageous, Susan. And so many Jewish people are upset that their religion is being conflated with Israel, with so many strongly opposing this genocide.
And people are losing their jobs and being unfairly smeared with this accusation.
Good one, Diana! I don't know how any normal, responsible, intelligent, caring person cannot be utterly pissed off, disgusted, sick to death and fed up with our feckless, spineless leaders, all of whom need to GO! And you're right about our debt to the Palestinians. Their steadfast resistance and resilience put humanity to shame!
Diana — This week I also recognized a simple definition of The Military Industrial Complex has been completely ignored by western media. Many Americans do not understand how it works. They also do not recognize or is impacting our nation and our personal family bank accounts through taxation. I wish more people would do educational pieces o what the Military Industrial Complex actually has to make and sell weapons to make a profit. They also have to kill thousands upon hundreds of thousands to justify their existence. It is a corporation. Very few Americans actually understand that it is a money making venture run by Billionaires who invested in these businesses, and because they are mostly comprised of sociopaths, they keep supporting these corporate owned ventures that seek to destroy the world, the people, and the environment.
Diana, the frustration is real and justified. But alongside the outrage, it's also important to stay sane, stay connected, and not let the weight of it all burn you out. That's also preparation. And it's just as important as the calls to action.
Thanks for summarizing how I feel these days too! I get so frustrated with people who refuse to open their eyes, ears, let alone hearts - to what is happening. Heads down, elbows up, eyes glued to the spectacles the elite are offering as distraction from environmental degradation, war, oppression, etc. Mainsteam media's eternal spinning of Israel as a victim - now joined by the West whose goods are being "held hostage" by Iran's blocking of the Hormuz strait. A surprising number of people don't know that the strait was open before Israel and USA attacked Iran for no reason. Few knew of its existence! And yet CBC "news" and their "journalists" often imply that the blocked strait is the reason US is at war with Iran...
CBC gets so much wrong. That's a new low bar, David, saying that the reason the USA is at war with Iran is because they blocked the Strait of Hormuz. Of course, if we've been paying attention we know that the Strait of Hormuz is blocked because of the American and Israeli unprovoked attack on Iran.
"We owe Palestinians so much! They’re the ones who exposed what Empire is all about, and they’ve paid such a huge cost. We are forever in their debt."
We are in their debt. This awful genocide has removed the blinders from our eyes and made us see the evil that is our governments, the war machine, and the capitalist system itself perpetuate. We can't fail them--or us--now. Organize! Resist! Fight back!

Thanks, Diane. We should all be outraged at the horror being committed and supported by the elite class. And much gratitude to Palestine, for sure.
Excellent, Diane! I feel this way, too.
Thanks, Mary.
Thank you Dianna!

I wish more people understood this too, Nikster.

I agree, Shams. And I do. I hope you're staying sane as well.
Diana, I'm doing my best, and some days are better than others. But staying connected to people who see clearly helps. You're one of them. Keep going.
Thanks, Shams, and I'm glad you seem to be doing alright.
