The Brookings Institute is one of many think tanks that control US politics. Try reading about the Koch brothers in Carol Off's book "At a Loss for Words."
It would be really useful to identify all the forces that control US and western politics. Western political issues are well co-ordinated and have been for decades.
It would also be useful to understand how they fit together and operate. I know the Koch Brothers were, and that the remaining one probably still is, responsible for a lot of horrible stuff.
Have you read Vincent Bevin's book "The Jakarta Method"? It's also quite an eye opener.
